BIRTH AND REBIRTH
Posted : January 13, 2012
New life at H.O.C!

Here at Hands of Compassion we are continually exposed to new life; it can be in the form of someone’s spiritual and emotional journey as he/she recovers from substance abuse; or a child who is given the opportunity to get an education; or a new born baby.
Philile recently gave birth to a beautiful boy - Thandolwani . Being able to see such delicate life is a testimony to all of us that there is hope for everyone.
The first thing Philile said to me when I spoke to her about her pregnancy was, “it’s not an easy thing to do”. Yet she is grateful for the care, love and support she has experienced in our community.
Facing the birth of a child, especially as a single mother, is scary and certainly not an easy thing to do, but there is hope when we surround ourselves with people who care and put our trust on the One that cares the most, Jesus.
In the end, any mother will tell you, the pain was worth it. It is beautiful to see a mother gently kissing her newborn baby, her eyes overflowing with joy and pride for God’s amazing gift.
“A very small degree of hope is sufficient to cause the birth of love” – Stendhal
